Alexander Klimenko
Alexander Klimenko, a St. Louis native, completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He went on to purse his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2021.
While in law school, Alex served as a member in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic, where he represented adults charged with misdemeanors in San Francisco Superior Court and youthful offenders at San Quentin State Prison who were eligible for parole. In addition, Alex interned at the San Francisco Public Defenders office in the Pre-trial Release/Bail Unit. There he wrote and argued bail motions specifically emphasizing recognizance release, or non-monetary release for indigent and non-violent offenders. His goal was to design and implement strategies to reduce disparate pretrial detention and confinement of indigent detainees.
Alex also interned at the Federal Defenders Office for the Western District of Missouri, where he represented death row inmates during their post-conviction appeals.
Since joining Niehoff Peterson & Cortez, LLC., in 2021, Alex has focused on state and municipal courts practice, involving felonies, misdemeanors, DWI, traffic tickets and driver’s license reinstatements.
